The Work
Farah & Sons provided construction inspection and contract administration for Phase 2 of the plantwide tertiary filter rehabilitation at the Belmont and Southport Advanced Wastewater Treatment plants for Citizens Energy Group. At roughly $20 million, this phase significantly expanded on the Phase 1 work to modernize the aging tertiary sand filter systems that polish the plants' final effluent before discharge.
The rehabilitation continued the replacement of mechanical, electrical, and controls components across the plants' filters. FGI's inspection verified that civil, mechanical, electrical, and controls work met project plans and specifications, with full daily documentation, quantity tracking, and commissioning support carried through to project closeout.
